How to use your peptides

You just got your order. Here's how to mix it (if it needs mixing), read your dose, inject it under the skin, and store it - in plain English.

Nobody is born knowing this. If you've never mixed or injected a peptide before, that's completely normal - and it's genuinely easier than it looks. Read this once, slowly, with your order in front of you. By your third time it's muscle memory.

This covers the whole thing: how to mix your peptide (if it needs mixing), how to read your dose, how to inject it under the skin, and how to store it so it keeps.

One hard line before anything else: inject under the skin (subcutaneous) only - or into muscle if your protocol specifically says so. Never into a vein. No research peptide protocol needs an IV, and it isn't a self-injection route. If a source ever tells you to hit a vein, walk away.

What's in your order?

What you're holding depends on what you ordered - so your box will contain one, or a combination, of these three:

A pre-filled injector pen - a pen with a dose dial that clicks. Already mixed, ready to use.
A vial we mixed for you - a glass vial with liquid already in it, because you chose our reconstitution service. Ready to use, keep it cold.
A powder vial + bacteriostatic (BAC) water + syringes - a vial with the peptide as dry powder, for you to mix yourself.

Ordered more than one product? You might have a mix of the above in the same box - that's normal.

If anything doesn't match what you ordered, don't use it - message us first (number's at the bottom) and we'll sort it out.

How to tell them apart:

Pen - obvious: a pen-shaped injector with a dial.
Mixed vial - you can see clear liquid inside.
Powder vial - inside is a small solid puck of what looks like white powder, usually about half a centimetre tall, sitting in the bottom. That's the peptide, freeze-dried. A couple come out coloured instead of white: 5-Amino-1MQ is orange, and anything with GHK copper (GHK-Cu, GLOW, KLOW) is purple - everything else is white. Powder vials come with their own BAC water and syringes.

Which did you get?

It's already mixed and ready. You don't mix anything - just read your dose and inject.

Read your dose (clicks)

Your pen doses in clicks. You turn the dial to set your dose - each click you dial in adds a fixed, tiny amount - and then press the button to inject the whole dose at once. Dialling only sets the amount; pressing is what actually delivers it.

1 click = 0.01 ml. Every pen, always.
Your pen's dose ladder is printed right on it. It reads something like "5 clicks = 0.5 mg · 10 clicks = 1 mg." That printed ladder is the source of truth - dial to the clicks for your dose and you're done. No maths.
In practice almost every dose lands between about 5 and 20 clicks. The dial goes higher, but you'll rarely need more than that.

Worked example (a Retatrutide 30 mg pen): the label reads 5 clicks = 0.5 mg, 10 clicks = 1 mg. So a 0.5 mg dose is 5 clicks; a 1 mg dose is 10 clicks. You never calculate anything - you read the number off your own pen.

Inject with the pen

Wash your hands. Wipe the pen tip with an alcohol swab.
Screw on a fresh pen needle - one per injection, never reuse.
Prime a new cartridge once. Screw the pen needle on tight, then - pen upright, dial at zero - press firmly on the dial button. A bead of liquid should appear at the tip, meaning the air's out and it's flowing. If nothing appears, dial one click and press firmly again. Don't dial more than that to prime, or you'll just waste peptide. (Only needed when you start a fresh cartridge.)
Dial your dose - the clicks from above.
Swab the skin and let the alcohol dry fully.
Pinch a fold of skin, press the needle straight in at 90°, and push the dose button all the way.
Hold it in for 5-10 seconds after it stops, so the full dose goes in and doesn't leak back. Then withdraw.
Unscrew the needle and bin it in your sharps container.

Afraid of needles? Our pens come with a special cap that hides the needle completely - a spring-loaded sleeve that sits over the tip, so you never actually see the needle. You press it against your pinched skin, it releases as you push the dose in, and because it's built to go in shallow you barely feel a thing. For a lot of people this is the difference between dreading it and not thinking about it.

Where to inject, and rotate

This is the part people dread and then find anticlimactic. A subcutaneous needle is much thinner than the ones you picture from a clinic, and most people barely feel it. Subcutaneous = into the soft layer just under the skin, not muscle, not vein.

Standard sites: the belly (2-3 cm either side of the navel - the easiest), the love handles / flanks, the outer thigh (middle third), and the upper glutes.

Rotate every time. Never the same spot two days running - give each site 48-72 hours. Easy trick: picture a clock face around your navel and move one position each injection. Hammering one patch causes lumps and patchy absorption; a loose rotation avoids all of it.

On a syringe now? Worth knowing for next time: the pens are easier again. Pen needles are even finer than insulin needles - most people genuinely don't feel them - and our pens come with a hidden-needle cap (a spring-loaded sleeve that covers the needle so you never see it, and guides it in extra-shallow). Between the two, there's almost nothing to feel. Something to consider on your next order.

Store it right

The powder and the mixed liquid are opposites: the dry powder is tough; the mixed liquid needs a bit of care.

Dry powder (not yet mixed). Keep it in the fridge - simple as that. It's genuinely hardy: freeze-dried peptide can handle a few weeks at room temperature, or long-term freezing, without harm - so a warm afternoon on the counter won't ruin it - but there's no reason to lean on that. Fridge, out of direct light, done.

Mixed liquid, or a pen in use:

Keep it in the fridge (2-8°C), out of light. Use a shelf or the crisper, not the door where the temperature swings.
Never freeze a mixed solution or a filled pen, and never shake it. Freezing and shaking are what actually destroy a peptide - far more than time does.
It lasts a lot longer than the "30 days" you'll see repeated online - that's a myth. Kept cold and dark, most mixed peptides stay good for many weeks to a couple of months, comfortably longer than it takes to finish the vial or pen. A few are genuinely shorter-lived and we'll tell you when that applies (PT-141, for example, is best used within about 2 weeks). What ages a peptide is heat, light, freezing and shaking - not the calendar.
If it ever looks wrong, bin it - cloudy, particles, discoloured (beyond GHK's blue or 5-Amino's red-orange), or smells off.

If a vial comes out wrong the moment you mix it - cloudy, full of particles, or discoloured straight away - that's not normal. Don't use it. Message us right away and we'll replace it under our terms of service - and we'll reconstitute the replacement ourselves, so you know the new one is mixed right.

Travelling? Keep a mixed vial or pen cold - a small cooler with an ice pack, with the vial or pen not touching the ice directly (you want it chilled, not frozen). Don't leave a mixed peptide out of the fridge for more than a few hours. Dry powder is far more forgiving, but once it's mixed, get it back into the cold quickly.

Sharps & staying clean

One needle, one use. Never recap and reuse - it's blunt and no longer sterile after one go.
Used needles go in a sharps container or a sealed hard plastic bottle (a thick drinks bottle works). Not loose in the bin.
Swab everything, every time - vial top and skin - and let the alcohol dry before you go in.
Only ever mix with bacteriostatic water. It's the whole reason a multi-use vial stays safe to draw from.

Clean technique is what keeps injections boring - which is exactly what you want.

When to pause and check

Solution looks cloudy, has floating bits, or has discoloured (beyond GHK's blue or 5-Amino's red-orange) → don't use it.
A little redness, swelling or itch at the site usually settles on its own - rotate off that spot.
A reaction that spreads, won't settle, or comes with feeling generally unwell → stop using that vial and get medical advice.
