About this peptide
SS-31 homes in on mitochondria, the cell's power plants, and binds a lipid called cardiolipin to help keep them working under stress. In September 2025 the same molecule became the first mitochondria-targeted medicine approved by the FDA, but only for a rare genetic disorder. Across other conditions its large trials were mostly negative, so wider use is unproven. Supplied as a freeze-dried powder for research use.

Key points
Most relevant to longevity-focused biohackers running it in 8-12 week cycles as part of a mitochondrial stack, and to concierge-clinic anti-ageing protocols. A secondary recovery cohort stacks it with MOTS-c. Not a fit for anyone expecting the longevity or performance benefits to be proven, because they are not.
It selectively binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, protecting the structures that produce cellular energy and cutting harmful reactive oxygen species. Research frames this as restoring mitochondrial function rather than acting as a general antioxidant.
Outside the one approved rare-disease use, most trials did not meet their goals, so longevity and performance benefits are not proven. The most common reported effect is injection-site reactions, with a benign transient rise in eosinophils on longer use. Do not freeze once reconstituted. A Certificate of Analysis is shared where our supplier provides one.
Supplied freeze-dried. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, injecting the diluent down the vial wall and swirling gently; the solution should be clear and colourless. Refrigerate at 2-8°C, keep out of light, and do not freeze, as freeze-thaw cycles degrade it. We can reconstitute to spec as a paid service.
